Summary
A Rockford Tornado Magazine camera. Made in London, but the design is of American origin. The body is wooden covered with brown leather and there are brass fittings and two viewfinders. The front has a large brass assembly carrying the lens and three orifices forming aperture settings. The simple shutter has just I and T options and the entire assemble moves in and out to give focus. The right side and base both have tripod mounts and the left side has a lever controlling the plates. This shows numbers 1-12 and is stamped ‘Tornado pat.applied for’. The top has two metal brackets for a carrying handle. The rear of the body hinges to give access to the internals. There are 12 quarter plate film holders and the pack is spring loaded.
