Summary
Houghtons Klito No 7 vertical format falling plate magazine box camera. For 12 plates size 3¼" x 4¼" (none present). A wooden camera with black leather covering and a black leather handle on the top. Brass fittings. Divided back door to allow exposed plates to be moved without interfering with unexposed plates. A Busch Rapid Symmetrical f/8 lens. Rack and pinion adjustable lens focus. Black leather bellows. Bausch & Lomb Automat shutter. Pneumatic bulb and cable shutter release (unattached). Two brilliant viewfinders and spirit levels each one on the top and side of body. Tripod bushes on side and base of body. Markings: On the side a metal plate with "Klito No 7 British Made".

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
