Summary
Houghton Klito No 2 Box Camera. A wooden camera with a black leather cover and black leather handle on the top. Rack and pinion focusing with black leather bellows. A divided back door for removing exposed plates. Stored inside are 5 glass plates (measuring 77mmx 106mm) in black metal plateholders plus one plateholder with no glass. These are kept in place by a large metal spring on the inside of the door. Safety shutter, three magnifiers that are adjustable from the outside. Includes brilliant finders on the top and side, showing the image the correct way up. On the front panel around the lens is a distance finder. The lens is labelled "Rapid rectilinear lens". On the door in front of the lens is a sliding filter. Markings:- next to the viewfinder embossed is "A Franks Optician Manchester. On side of camera metal plate stating" Klito No 2 British Made" The plate holders are labelled with No1 (x2) and No 2 (x3).
