Summary
A Pecto No 2 folding plate camera made by Columbia Optical and camera co, London. The body is wood covered with black leather and the baseboard is polished wood. The bellows is brown leather and there is a rotating viewfinder and focussing scale on the baseboard. Fittings are brass. The lens has no markings but has an iris diaphragm with apertures 8-128 (US). The shutter has just T,B,I settings and the shutter casing is marked 'Rauber & Wolfe Optical Co Pat Feb 1900 Rochester NY U.S.A.' The lens panel has a rising facility. At the rear there is a groung glass focussing screen which slides to allow plate insertion. Plates are 4x5 inches. There are two tripod bushes. The front plate reads 'Pecto No 2'.
