Summary
A Kodak Ciné Eight Model 20 camera. The body is metal covered in black leather, with black leather handle and the fittings are chrome. A metal label on the front of the camera is printed with aperture guidance and the viewfinder folds with the carrying handle. The lens mount is marked 'Kodak Anastigmat F1.9 13mm' Loading is via the side panel. Winding key on side of camera. There is a tripod mount on the base. There is a roll of film inside the camera. A 25 ft roll of special film is used. Each frame exposed is only half the width and half the height of a standard 16mm film. After the film is run through the camera, the spools are reversed and the other half of the film is exposed. When processed at an Eastman laboratory, it is split down the middle and spliced end to end to produce a 50 ft reel of 8mm film. This requires the same projection time on screen as 100 ft of standard 16mm film. Markings: A metal label on the top reads 'Ciné Kodak Eight Model 20. Made in Great Britain by Kodak Limited, London'. Inside the removable side panel is a coloured label printed with a sketch of the film to be used and with the following text: 'Use Kodak film. It gets the pictures. Only Ciné-'Kodak' 8 Film can be used in this camera. Protected throughout the world'
