Summary
A Le Merveilleux field camera. The body is wooden and the fittings and focus mechanism are brass. The bellows is a dark fabric. Focussing is via a rack and pinion and is assessed using a ground glass screen. On the top of the body is a leather carrying handle. There are three enamelled labels on the unit: Top 'Le "Merveilleux" Patent' Lens mount 'J. Lancaster & Son Birmingham' Baseplate 'A. Franks Optician Manchester Bolton Hull'. There is a tripod bush on the base.
