Summary
A set of 3 double photographic plate holders, made by Thornton Pickard. The plate holders are made of mahogany and contain black metal backing plates hinged within the plate holder. Markings: manufacturers name is on inside edge of wood near hinges in one of the plates. On the others the manufacturers mark is on outer edge near hinges. The plate holders are numbered 1-6. Each plate has a different number inscribed within it: 395, 489, 605.

Part of The Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
