Summary
Special Ruby folding field camera, quarter plate size. Taylor Taylor and Hudson f/8 5.38 inch focal length lens, roller blind shutter. The camera is wood with brass fittings, glass plate and black leather bellows. The brass lens is inscripted with "Taylor Taylor and Hobson Leicester and London Number 13329 4X3 RREO Focus 5.38 inches" followed by the aperture scale from F22-F8. The lens is kept wrapped separately within bellows. The wooden roller blind shutter has five speeds. Spring back for easy insertion of dark slides in front of the focusing screen. Circular recess on side which once would have housed an additional manufacturers mark. Manufacturer mark on shutter is printed on white disc with "TIME & INST. PATENT THORNON PICKARD" and engraved on brass plate on side "Thornton Pickard". Rotating wooden ring base. Estimated date 1900-1910
