Summary
A Canadian Kodak Company Ltd. No. 2 Folding Autographic Brownie, roll film camera. Fitted with meniscus lens with 4 stops, and Kodak ball bearing shutter with patent dates. The camera body is metal, covered with black leather with winding knobs, shutter release, struts and curved foot in chrome. The manufacturer's plate is black painted metal with patent dates and manufacturing information, ‘EKC’ – Eastman Kodak Company - inscribed in gold. The hinged cover plate, baseboard and rack are also black metal with chrome pinion rails. The bellows is black leather, with a static finder. Name of camera is embossed on leather handle.
Provenance
A part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
