Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print by Hay Wrightson in portrait format depicting a three-quarter length portrait of a man in the ceremonial uniform of the household cavalry, with his helmet on the table by his side. He is wearing a number of medals and badges. The photograph is mounted on heavy card. Markings: Recto: handwritten in pencil along the bottom edge: Hay Wrightson, London. Verso: "Under Royal Patronage, portrait by Hay Wrightson Ltd, R. Walter Flemming, 100, George St, London, W1, Telephone: Welbeck 8818" Hay Wrightson (1874-1949) was a photographer and owner of the photography firm Hay Wrightson Ltd, the firm continued after the death of Wrightson.
