Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver photograph in portrait format, depicting a full-length portrait of Prince George, Duke of Kent, and Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, with a page boy, taken on the occasion of the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in May 1937. The photograph was taken in the throne room at Buckingham Palace. The image is mounted on heavy white card (now discoloured). The card is damaged in several places. Markings: Recto: Handwritten in pencil immediately below the image: bottom left is the photographer's signature: "Hay Wrightson" and bottom right: "London". There is a small label bottom left corner printed in black with the number "118". Verso: Handwritten in black ink at the bottom of the mount: "No. 118, Hay Wrightson, FRSA, ARPS, 41 New Bond Street, London W1. There is also a label affixed at bottom left corner, printed in green and black with the following text: "Exhibited at the Exhibition of Camera Portraits 1937.
