Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver photograph in portrait format, depicting a full-length portrait of Queen Mary, on the occasion of the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in May 1937. Queen Mary is wearing her coronation dress, ermine cloak and circlet or coronation crown for together with family orders and the Order of the Garter; taken in the Drawing Room at Marlborough House. The image is mounted on white paper which is itself mounted on heavy white card (both now discoloured). The card is damaged in several places. Markings: Recto: Handwritten in pencil immediately below the image: bottom left is the photographer's signature: "Hay Wrightson" and bottom right: "London".
