Summary
Gelatine silver glass dry plate negative in landscape format, depicting the Yatsuhashi at Koraku-en garden in Okayama, Japan. The garden is located on the north bank of the Asahi River on an island. Yatsuhashi means "eight bridges" and is a Japanese method of crossing ponds or marshed, formed from 8 quite narrow wooden planks, arranged in a zigzag pattern, as in this image.
