Summary
Gelatine silver glass dry plate negative in landscape format, depicting a tall lantern statue amongst trees at Miyajima in Japan. There is a row of smaller lanterns alongside. A woman is standing in the foreground, holding a baby and with a young child by her side. Additional information written on the sleeve (not original): April 30 1909, Miyajima. Lantern and 2 children at foot. F/14 1/5 Bt Diff. In separate sleeve with 'negative to be done photogravure' written on it. [Note: this is not present] Part of the Christie Miller Collection.
