Summary
Gelatine silver glass dry plate negative in original buff paper wallet, in portrait format, depicting a head and shoulders studio portrait of a young woman wearing white shirt and dark necktie. There is a border around the image. This is a copy of an original studio portrait (see notes on wallet, detailed below). The buff coloured paper wallet (part of the "Negasys" storage system - see General Note below) is pre-printed in black ink with a form where details of the photograph can be recorded: Date, Subject, Stop & Exposure, Exposure for Transparency, Exposure for Bromide, Exposure for Gaslight Paper, Print Meter No for Carbon etc, and Note. The wallet has a flap, upon which is printed in black ink the number "29". There is another, almost identical image (an enlargement, without border) which was originally stored with this plate, but has been catalogued separately - see Inventory No. 1522898.36. Condition: There is very minor silver mirroring around the edges of the plate. Handwritten in black ink on the wallet, against "Date": 'Aug 1913"; against "Subject": 'Liz. Copies of Portrait by Jerome'; against "Stop & Exposure": F32, 12 secs, 4.30PM; and against "Exposure for Bromide": '40 secs oil lamp. Enl. 2 min'. Part of the Christie Miller Collection.
