Summary
Wooden box for a collection of gelatine silver glass plate negatives stored in original sleeves which are labelled with date/subject. Part of the Christie Miller Collection. The box has finger joints and the lid is affixed with two brass hinges, and secured with a brass swivel catch. Inside the lid is stamped in blue ink (part is faint): '"Negasys" system'. This filing/storage system for negatives was manufactured by Houghtons Ltd of High Holborn, London WC (see General Note below).
