The famous Garden of Eden (and villa) is on the island of Giudecca in Venice, Italy, and is named after an Englishman, Frederic Eden (a great-uncle of the British Prime Minister Anthony Eden), who owned the property and designed the garden in 1884. The image is mounted on grey paper and then on dark grey card. The image has a matt finish and very minor silvering at the edges. Markings: Verso: Handwritten in pencil: "Garden on Giudecca. Church of Redentore". Part of the Christie-Miller collection; photographs taken by Charles Wakefield Christie-Miller (1877-1976).
