Summary
Monochrome albumen print by an unknown photographer, depicting the west door of Lichfield Cathedral. A carved stone gothic archway, with stone figures, around ornately carved oak doors. A frieze of statues of apostles, prophets and kings runs along the wall above the door. The image is mounted on heavy white paper and this has been cut out around the edges of the image and then affixed to another larger sheet of paper, with a second photograph mounted below (Inv. No. 1522483 - Lincoln Cathedral). There are minor tears to the edges of the paper. The photograph probably dates to between approximately 1860-1880. Markings: None.
