Summary
Chromogenic photographic print of Lacock Abbey by Thomas Kellner, from his 'Lacock Abbey Fractured Architecture' collection. The image is composed of 10 strips of positive contact prints from negatives, each individual image having been taken at a different angle to create a fractured effect. The images combine to form a landscape format image of the main building at Lacock Abbey, including the steps to the Great Hall, and the 'lattice window'. The technique uses multiple perspectives whereby the finished image is a sequence mounted on a contact sheet of 35-mm film. The background behind the individual images is black. The image has a high gloss finish. Markings: Verso - handwritten in black ink: "Thomas Kellner. 33#40. Lacock Abbey 2002. 5/20+3". The photographic paper is watermarked on verso with the Fujifilm name and 'Fujicolor professional paper'.
Provenance
