Summary
A gelatine silver print, selectively toned, featuring the latticed Oriel window at Lacock Abbey that appeared in the first negative created by William Henry Fox Talbot. Bottom left is a photogapher, kneeling, paying homage to the window. Both the window and the photographer are toned in shades of brown, to differentiate them from the rest of the image. In the foreground is a collection of photographic equipment, including cameras, lenses, tripod and rolls of film. Markings: Verso, handwritten in black ink on a white label, top left hand corner, "Homage to Fox Talbot by John Lewis & Ian Evans. West Bromwich College of Commerce & Technology 1982".
