Summary
A Dufaycolor transparency stereograph depicting a valley of the River Lot near Estaing, France. The view is looking down into a thickly wooded, rocky river valley. The transparencies are mounted between two pieces of card, recto black and verso beige, with rounded corners. The apertures through which the images are viewed are hand-cut and have square corners and straight edges. There is a space of 5 mm between them. Markings: Recto - None. Verso - Ink stamped on left side: "T.H. Pettipher". Handwritten in black ink on left side: "Valley of River Lot, near Estaing" and handwritten in pencil: "1" and "722". It is evident from a remaining piece of printed text that the front card was cut from a stereograph card usually used to mount prints.
