Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph view the Butterwalk, Totnes, Devon. The image shows the covered pavement arcade on the High Street, with 2 and 3 story buildings above on the left of the image. On the right on the other side of the road is the covered Poultry Walk, with a couple with 2 bikes under cover. There is a group of 5 men standing in the road, looking in the direction of the camera. Further down the road is a heavily laded farm cart. The 2 images have square corners and are straight edged, with no space between them. They are mounted on card which is light grey on recto and verso, with a white surround, and rounded corners. Markings: Recto - Handwritten in pencil, on the right hand side, "Totnes, Buttermarket". Verso - nil
