Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph view of fishing captains talking on the quay at Brixham, Devon. The image shows 8 captains, standing on the quay, next to an upturned rowing boat, talking in small groups. They are wearing suits and peaked caps, which suggests they are captains rather than deckhands. Behind them in the harbour are several sailing/fishing. Rising on the left side of the image are tiered rows of substantial buildings. The 2 images have square corners and are straight edged, with no space between them. They are mounted on card which is light grey on recto and verso, with a white surround, and rounded corners. Markings: Recto - Handwritten in pencil, on the right hand side, "Brixham Skippers". Verso - nil
