Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph of a view of the Cloisters, Wells Cathedral, Somerset. Taken at ground level, it focuses on the elaborately carved ceiling. The 2 images have square corners and are straight edged, with a space of 3mm between them. They are mounted on card which is matt black on recto and brown on verso. It has rounded corners. The image was quite likely taken by T.H. Pettipher of Oxfordshire, based on similar images in the same set. Markings: Recto - none. Verso - pre-printed form in black ink with space for details of the image. These have been left blank. Handwritten in pencil "Wells. The Cloisters"
