Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph of a hurdle maker, Leafield, Oxfordshire. The 2 images are straight edged and have a gap of 2mm between them. They are mounted on card which is matt black on recto and dark grey-brown on verso. It has rounded corners. The image shows the back of a man making hurdles. He is stood with a pile of wood to turn into hurdles at his left hand side, whilst feeding one through a stripping machine behind which are piles of hurdles already formed. He is dressed in shirt, waistcoat and hat. Markings: Verso, a pre-printed proforma in black ink has space for details of the photograph. The details are written in black pen - "The Hurdle maker 1935 An old Leafield man aged 77 when this was taken".
