Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph of the interior of St Michael and All Angels, Leafield, Oxfordshire. The 2 images, with rectangular top edges, are mounted in a black card frame with rounded corners and there is no space between them. The image shows a view of interior of the church, looking up the nave to the alter and the stained glass windows. In the foreground is a stone front with a metal ewer at its base. The nave is filled with plain wooden bench pews, with columned arches either side. At the end of the nave on the left is the wooden pulpit and on the right a lecturn in the shape of an eagle. Between them in the aisle is what appears to be a Prie Dieu. The chancel has inward facing wooden choir stalls. Markings: Verso, hand written in black ink vertically on the left hand side "Leafield Church".
Provenance
Donated on 5 September 2012 to the Fox Talbot Museum by Mrs Sylvia Warwick.
