Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph of The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Bampton, Oxfordshire. The 2 images, with rectangular top edges, are mounted in a black card frame with rounded corners and there is a space of 3mm between them. The image shows a offset view of the church and churchyard. In the foreground an elderly man is standing underneth a mature tree. At the base of the spire are 4 figures placed on prominent stands, they are said to be of St Andrew, St John the Baptist, St Peter, whilst the forth not known Markings: Verso, hand written in black ink vertically on the left and right hand side "Bampton Church. Statuetttes in each corner of .The figures at base of Tower are said to be of St Andrew, St John Bapt, St Peter, the forth not known (monk?)".
