Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph of the Lantern in the roof of Ely Cathedral, Norfolk. The 2 images, with rectangular top edges, are mounted in a black card frame with rounded corners and a space of 3 mm between them. The image shows the octagonal lantern in the roof, with the light shining through the lantern, showing the octagonal shape. The 8 wooden vaulting structures leading to the octagon can be seen partially, with 2 outlining windows and two an arch to the rest of the Cathedral. Markings: Recto, written in pencil, horizontally in the top right hand corner,"100". Verso, written in black ink vertically on the right hand side, "Ely Cathedral The interior of the Lantern in the roof" and "1948" and "This should be viewed by pointing the stereoscope vertically - above the head. If possible to use in "box form" 'scope with reflecting mirror "
