Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph of a sculpture depicting the Burning Bush, Burford Priory Chapel, Oxfordshire The 2 images, with rectangular top edges, are mounted in a grey card frame with rounded corners and there is no space between them. The image shows 2 spirally fluted columns on panelled pedestals that carry the (ruined) gallery or upper floor. The capitals are Corinthian, with birds' heads rising from the foliage in place of volutes. There are entrances above and below, and flanking the latter two angels stand on tall pedestals, looking towards the representation of the Burning Bush over the doorway. Markings: Verso. In a square label with a blue outline in the centre, written vertically in blue ink "Sculpture in ruined chapel of Burford Priory (Oxon). Supposed to represent the "Burning Bush" ". Also on the label is a purple oval printed logo for " T.H. PETTIPHER CHIPPING NORTON".
