Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph depicting Truro Cathedral, Truro, Cornwall. The view shows the cathedral, from the south east, looking up St Mary's St. There is a boy carrying a basket in the centre of the street walking towards the cathedral and several othere people further up the road. The shop on the right "Opie Ltd" was a noted local photographer. The shop on the left looks like a pharmacy: above it is a sign for a "Back Way to the Red Lion Hotel". The 2 images, with rectangular top edges, are mounted on burgundy card with rounded corners and there is no space between them. Markings: Recto, handwritten in pencil, vertically on the right hand side, "Truro". Verso, written in pencil, vertically on the left hand side, "Truro".
Provenance
Donated on 5 September 2012 to the Fox Talbot Museum by Mrs Sylvia Warwick.
