Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph depicting a tomb at Burford Church, Gloucestershire. The image shows a rectangular fronted stone tomb, with three sections delineated on the front. On top is a symmetrical pentagonal large stone carving. the tomb is to the right of an opening. The 2 images, with rectangular top edges, are mounted on black card with rounded corners and there is a space of 5 mm between them. Markings: Verso: Handwritten vertically in pencil starting on the left hand side " 16th Century Tomb in Burford Church is Richard Rainhold, and, presumably his wife (His descendants still survive in the town) April 1945". On right hand side, veryically, is "Inscriptions on tablets" Below which are 2 boxes hand drawn with " IGOTOSLEEPEBEFOREYOU" in one, and in the other "ANDWEESHALWAKETOGEATHER". Written, at the top "The hot water pipes are a modern improvement (?)"
