Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph depicting a miserere in Ripple Church, near Tewkesbury. The image shows the carved wooden top with a 3D carving of two women spinning half way down. The two images, with rectangular top edges, are mounted on black card with rounded corners and no gap between the images. Markings: Recto: Top left hand corner number 10 in pencil. Verso: Handwritten in pen, on the left hand side, "Miserere, Ripple Church, Near Tewkesbury, The Home Fireside, T.H. Pettipher". Also the number 16 in blue pencil and on a small white label is printed the number 4820. On the right hand side, handwritten in pen, "One lady seems to be spinning flax, the spindle being missing. The other in thick 'mittens'? is a puzzle. Perhaps cooking something in the 'pot'?". Also printed in grey is "PETTIPHER, CHIPPING NORTON".
