Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver print stereograph depicting Grotesque figures on St Bartholomew’s church, Aldsworth, Gloucestershire.The view shows the figures, high on a wall, full on. They continue along an adjoining wall. The main wall has a drainpipe running down and a small gothic arched door, with a carved tympanum over it, with stone steps upto it. The 2 images, with rectangular top edges, are mounted on black card with rounded corners and there is a space of 4mm between them. Markings: Verso: Handwritten in pencil "Aldsworth, Cotswolds. Remarkable Gargoyles". Handwritten in blue pen, "They are"Grotesques"".
