Summary
A monochrome collotype photomechanical print stereograph depicting the Bridge on the Cynfael. Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, Wales. The 2 images, with squared corners, are mounted on dark cream card, with rounded corners and there is no space between them. The view, taken from a rocky riverbed, shows large rocks in the foreground leading upto a stone arched bridge, with metal railings. There is a woman, holding an open parasol standing in the middle of the bridge. The bridge is surrounded by trees. Markings: Recto: Printed in black on the left-hand side, “Stereoscopic Views of English & Foreign Scenery” and on the right-hand side, “Permanent Stereoscopic Photographs Series PB”. Printed in white on the left-hand image, “65 Festiniog. Bridge (unreadable) the Cynfael ”. Verso: Printed in purple on the righ-hand side, “H E Owens”. The printing from the recto is visible on the verso.
