Summary
A monochrome halftone photomechanical print stereograph of the Monument to the Inniskillings on Hart's Hill, Natal, South Africa. The 2 images, with rounded upper corners, are mounted on white card, with rounded corners and there is a space of 3mm between them. The view shows the stone obelisk, with its inscription visible. It is surrounded by metal and wire fencing and is set in rough stoney ground. Markings: Recto, printed in black and white on the right hand side, "The "B-P" Series". Verso, printed in black, " (Copyright.) MONUMENT TO THE INNISKILLINGS ON HART'S HILL. The inscription upon it reads as follows: "Near this spot were killed or mortally wounded on the 23rd and 24th of Feb. 1900, Lieut.-Col Thackeray, Commanding Major Sanders second in command, Lieut. Stuart, and sixty-five N.C.O. and men of the 27th Inniskillings, whilst advancing to the relief of Ladysmith". W Tylar, Publisher, Birmingham".
