Summary
A monochrome halftone photomechanical print stereograph of a Boer Oven, South Africa. The 2 images, with rounded upper corners, are mounted on white card, with rounded corners and there is a space of 3mm between them. The view shows a mud/earth oven built into the side of a donga (dried up river bed). There is dug-out to the left and 2 large stones in the foreground (possibly to close up the oven). The donga is surrounded by rough bush. Markings: Recto, printed in black and white on the right hand side, "The "B-P" Series". Verso, printed in black, " (Copyright.) BOER OVEN. In the donga referred to in No.5 is evidently the remains of a Boer bakery. Near the oven is a small dug-out, in which the store of flour was apparently packed. W Tylar, Publisher, Birmingham".
