Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver stereograph of a mounted statue above an ornate gateway. The 2 images are mounted on heavy black card, with rounded corners and there is no space between them. The view shows a figure, in medieval dress wearing possibly a crown, seated on a horse that itself is dressed in a coat. The statue is viewed side on and sits in an extremely ornately carved alcove, with an inset fleur de lys background. The alcove sits above an arched gateway, with decorated columns on ether side. The archway runs the thickness of the building, with a waist-high wrought iron gate midway. There is another building visible through the arch. The wall of the building into which the arch is set is constructed of both brick and stone. Left of the arch are large ground and first floor windows and a decorated gutter downpipe. To the right of the arch is a small wooden door in its own arch and ornate tympanum. Above it, the first floor window has an ornate "balcony" surrounding it, from which a gargoyle, in the shape of a small animal, is facing the roadway in front of the arch. There are no markings.
