Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver stereograph of San Nicolò Church, Burgeis, South Tyrol, Italy. The 2 images are mounted on heavy black card, with rounded corners and there is no space between them. The view, taken from across an unmetalled road, shows the church of San Nicolò. There are 2 tall trees - the height of the tower- alongside it and a telegraph pole in the foreground. Two men, in working clothes, are walking up the road. In the mid-distance is the Pfarrhaus Burgeis (a Catholic church) and in the far distance a road runs up into the mountains that form a backdrop to the image. Markings: Recto: top right hand corner in pencil, "83". Verso: Left hand side, written in pencil, "Chapel near Burgeis, on Reschen pass, Tyrol". Central, pre-printed in black, "No. Set, Title, By, Date, Time, Lens, Stop, Filter, Light, Exposure, Focus, Sepñ, Plate, Developer, Paper, Toning, Remarks".
