Summary
A partly hand tinted monochrome gelatine silver glass lantern slide, depicting a cobbled street in a mountain village, probably in the Mediterranean area. There is a mountain on the horizon, and cacti in the foreground. The image has been hand-tinted across the sky area using a very pale pink. There is a white paper label on the top left edge, upon which is handwritten "88". Another white paper label is affixed top centre and printed in black ink with "Round the World". There is a circular white label on the top right corner, printed in black ink with "34". Two sheets of glass, 83 mm x 83 mm, one of which carries the image and the other is a cover glass, bound together with black fabric tape. Behind the cover glass there is a black paper mask over the images with rounded corners.
