Summary
A monochrome gelatine silver glass lantern slide, depicting an life-model enacted scene of a lifeboatman carrying a young girl out of the sea. She wears a white dress, is barefoot, and is dripping with water. The slide is part of a series depicting a narrative. Two sheets of glass, 83 mm x 83 mm, one of which carries the image and the other is a cover glass - originally these would have been bound together with tape, but this is missing. The negative has been masked so that there is a circular mask within the photographic image. There is some damage to the top left edge of the glass, and a little has chipped away.
