Summary
Cinematograph Living Pictures Flicker Book. A small flicker (flip) book, produced in Germany, depicting a silhouette on each page. Each images depicts a black ink silhouette of a man carrying a stick and waving his hat and coming up a small hill. To create the animation the flick book is held at the spine between the first finger and thumb of the left hand, while the thumb of the right hand flicks the pages in sequence, allowing the viewer to see each page in rapid succession. The book is made of buff paper - 26 pages, bound with a single metal staple along left lateral margin, and printed in black ink. Markings: On cover: 'Cinematograph/LIVING PICTURES' Left lateral margin of cover: 'Germany'.
