Summary
A Frena Gelatine Silver film negative depicting a view a market scene, Place Jeanne Hachette, Beauvais, Northern France. The negative has rectangular cutouts on the top and bottom.The view is taken from the ground level,from the floor of an open-fronted shop, framed by columns that are partially carved in fleur-de-lis motifs, and shows the market traders, horse-drawn carts and shoppers in the foreground, with the shops of the Place behind them. On the left is a shield, with the initials UVF L' Union vélocipédique de France - (the ancestor of the French Cycling Federation). In the market place itself is a decorated open arch.The top of the southern fascade of the Cathedral is in the background.
