Summary
Hand tinted relievo ambrotype portrait of a Victorian boy on a pony, with groom. The image is in a gold arched mount in a black frame. The image depicts a boy astride a white coloured pony. The boy is wearing a cap with hand tinted band in blue and matching blue necktie. The saddle hand reins have hand tinted gold details. The groom standing by the pony is wearing a black top hat with hand tinted gold band. The ground is hand tinted in green and brown. The rear of the framed image is covered in brown paper and there is a metal loop at the top which has an ornate gold flower and leaf design that fits over the top of the front of the frame.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
