Summary
A Frena Gelatine Silver film negative depicting a view of the Victoria Embankment, London. The negative has rectangular cutouts on the top and bottom.The view is taken from ground level and shows a view along the Embankment, with Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and the Victoria Tower in the background to the left. In the foreground on the left, 2 people are sitting on a bench, looking towards the River Thames, whilst a further person is walking behind them on a more elevated part of the Embankment. The right hand side of the negative shows the River Thames, with a small steamer containing a number of visible passengers proceeding downriver. A further steamer is moored to the Embankment. In the background is Westminster Bridge, where 2 horsedrawn omnibuses can be seen crossing.
