Summary
A rectangular Crystoleum photograph of a seated woman, in a long dress, plucking a stringed instrument watched by a man sat on the same bench. Under the photograph is labelled 'THE CHARMER' on the gilt part of the rectangular frame in black. The background shows a large painting on the wall, a jardinere with a rug underneath the bench and other soft furnishings. The woman's dress is of a shiny material, with patterns on the edges, large puffed sleeves and a v shaped neckline, her hair is wavy and off her face. Her feet are resting on a cushion and she is looking at the camera. The man is sat facing her, with his left elbow on his knee and his face resting on his left hand. His jacket has a large light coloured collar edged with lace, his trousers are tucked into boots which have a large light coloured turned over top. The frame is made of wood, with 4 ridges going down to the photograph, the outside ridges are painted black (with damage at the top right where a small amount of black paint is missing) whilst the inner ridges are gilt. A piece of card is tacked on to the back with the number 1923 handwritten in pencil on the top right hand corner.
