Summary
An opalotype portrait, head and shoulders portrait of a lady, she is wearing a dark dress with high necked, white edged collar. Photograph by Walton Adams. Opalotypes are carbon prints on translucent white glass. Markings: Handwritten in black, in the bottom right corner of the image is: "Walton Adams". The image is rectangular, in a plush green mount inside a gold mount, in a gold coloured frame which is etched with designs of ivy and geometric patterns.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
