Summary
A gelatine silver stereoscopic glass slide depicting Chamonix and Mont Blanc, Savoie, France. The image shows a view looking down the river valley towards Chamonix, with Mount Blanc rising in the background, in the region of Savoie, France. Part of a series by Ferrier, père, fils et Soulier (Charles Soulier and Claude-Marie Ferrier) is visible on the bottom righthand side of the slide. A glass slide comprising two stereographic pictures on one piece of glass, and covered with a second piece of glass inside. There is black paper around the outer edges to bind the two pieces of glass. Markings: On a white paper label on the lefthand edge of the slide is handwritten in black ink: "4524 Chamounix et le mont Blanc. No 1" Printed within the black border of the slide, bottom left, is: "4524, Chamounix et le mont Blanc. No 1 (Savoie". Printed within the black border of the slide, bottom right, is: "Ferrier, pere, fils et Soulier"
