Summary
A gelatine silver stereoscopic glass slide depicting the facade of Notre-Dame cathedral, Paris, France. The image shows the front of the cathedral, with a large municipal building on the left hand side, with a few people walking in front. There is a horse drawn carriage in front of the cathedral. The right hand side of the cathedral is supported by scaffolding. Part of a series by Ferrier père, fils et Soulier (Charles Soulier and Claude-Marie Ferrier). A glass slide comprising two stereographic pictures on one piece of glass, and covered with a second piece of glass inside. There is black paper around the outer edges to bind the two pieces of glass.The image is surrounded by a black painted mask, with a double gold border. Printed within the black border of the slide, bottom left, is: "115, Facade de Notre-Dame".

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
