Summary
Three cardboard boxes for stereoscopic glass slides. Each has a base section and a separate lid which fits over the top. The boxes are made of cardboard, covered with brown paper. Each lid has a blue label with white text and border. Each label is printed with: "Diapositive du Vetro per Stereoscopio e Proiezioni. Musei e Gallerie Pontificie" The base of each box is stamped in indigo ink with a logo which reads: "Musei e Gallerie Pontificie". Each box is identical, except for a small white panel on the side of the lid, within which has been printed, in red ink, each box number (1-3).
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
