Summary
A silver nitrate stereoscopic glass slide depicting The West Wing of Alton House at Alton Towers, Staffordshire, England. This was designed in the neo-gothic style, possibly by Augustus Pugin. The view is taken from across the lake, with the reflection mirrored in the water. The 2 images are on a single sheet of glass. There is no form of border. The rectangular images have square corners and no gap between the images. Handwritten on white tape on the top left hand side of the left hand image is the number "7".

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
